The Fuuko Page
1. The Fuuko Page
I have contemplated whether to make this page, because I have posted Fuuko already elsewhere, and it might be seen as „attentionwhoring“ to attach my online alias to those anonymous posts that had a sensitive topic and so on…Well, to conclude: Those posts are way in the past and everyone who read those already knew it was me in spite me posting as anon, because of the topics discussed, hence I don't think it makes that much of a difference anymore. In any case, this page has nothing to do with those posts and should be seen as a separate thing, if you ever were to come across those. In retrospect I should attached any other girl to these posts and not Fuuko, because Fuuko is irreplacable and special.
1.1. 1. Fuuko
Fuuko has been in my head ever since I finished Clannad, the anime, but my „friendship in my head“ or whatever you want to call it, started really when I read her route in the game (I kind of gave up on finishing Clannad for various reasons, but I have finished her route and a few other girls, so I certainly not have seen everything yet). She is not my „waifu“; I had a waifu from another Key VN and personality-wise she had similar traits to Fuuko, which is why I liked her, but I kind of grew apart, and didn't feel like having a „waifu“ was right anymore, but that's a whole different story. This page is dedicated to Fuuko.
Anyhow, Fuuko is special, because she always kept fighting in spite of the odds, she always stood strong, and even though it seemed futile at times, still tried to make everyone happy, and spread joy whilst not having it easy herself. I'm aware that this is just a combination of personality traits found in many Key works, because such Nakige are engineered to pull your heartstrings and manipulate you into feeling sad or happy at moments; Key's games are very manipulative, if you think about it. But in the case of Fuuko, it worked on me, and I feel a connection to her, because of how she is presented, and because of how she behaves both in the show and in the game. It feels like I have experienced a „slice of her life“ and it makes me feel a connection to her.
Seeing her smile makes me happy too.
Maybe this „friendship“ to her is just a product of me being a socially isolated Hikki, who has no similar people in his life, so maybe it is a little bit pathetic to look up to a fictional character instead of a real person, but I do not feel particularly bad about it, it is how it is.
Fuuko just remains special among all the other 2d girls and I feel like her attitude towards life and other people is admirable and a motivation to be a better person.
