1. Materialism, Nihilism, and how it relates to Sports
One thing often uttered by wanna-be nerds and retards of all kinds is this notion that sports is silly, because "they are just running behind a ball, how silly!". And I think this attitude translates well into other materalist beliefs.
In essence everything can be reduced to something mundane: every feeling, every thought, every achievement, and every activity. The greatest book is just ink in a dead tree, the greatest idea is just neurons transfering electricity, your most intense feelings are just biochemical reactions, and, finally, sports is just people running after a ball. This is technically correct, however, the conclusion they draw from it is retarded. There is no causal connection between "This phenomenon in the world is purely materalistic" and "therefore it has no value". The one doesn't mean the other. It's just a flawed logical construct. Of course running behind a ball is mundane when you describe it as such, but, obviously, there is more to it and it has more value to people. Just because it has no objective and instrinsic value doesn't mean you cannot give it a value and enjoy doing it. Those people intentionally miss a big point of the human experience that they choose to ignore for the sake of their flawed reasoning. Value is never instrisic but something given and something is not devalued by being mundane and something that can be understood. Those people also have values, such as their nihilism and materialism, that has value for them, but for some reason those are the objective truth even though nihilism is just as much of a biochemical reaction as is hate, joy, displeasure, love, curiosity, and so on.
This picture of Donald Duck and Mickey is very right, even though it is mostly a silly meme, but the argument therein is basically the same as what I write here.
As such: Arguing that sports is just "people running behind ball" is retarded and is very biased, is not in any way original way original thought, and most people besides your nihilist try-hard nerd Discord clique know this intuitively and just lack the ability to express their feelings; ask your mom and she will tell you the same. Sometimes ordinary people are closer to the truth than online contrarians.

If you feel like this article is directed at a certain person in mind, then you are right.
A small anecdote: In my school there were a group of self-professed "nerds" who played videogames, and were into fantasy novels, and roleplay, and weren't as simple minded as those that played sports and talked to the girls. The kind of person who makes their whole identity about what they are not and who had a strong sense of identity in general about completely retarded things. And since it was a private Catholic school, they also loved to be debatebro 2010-style atheists and argue with people. They never had any worthwhile ideas or anything they did, but instead of admitting that they are losers and moved on with their life, they obsessed over this sense of identity and had to tell everyone how special and different they were.
And whenever asked about football (German football; "Fußball"), they would reply that "chasing a ball is really silly and pointless" and they thought they were the smartest super-duper-giga-turbo-geniuses for reducing this activity to something mundane and hoped that somebody would fall for their retarded ideas and join them in their retardation. The same way the argued that "love and sex are pointless" for the same reductionist reasons. Basically everything they didn't like (because they weren't good at it) was a mundane and mechanical and fruitless endavour, meanwhile they did not reflect on whether their hobbies and activities are not literally the same. This seems to be a common way of """rebelling""" as a teenager without doing anything dangerous or anything actually out of line; socially-acceptable and sterile. This is what they are all about. The same way reducing playing sports or having sex to something valueless is a socially-acceptable and sterile way of being out of line; but, mind you, not because they had found some profound truth about the nature of man, but because they just were contrarian about things everyone did but they didn't like, even though, as I said above, even your mom could tell you the wisdom that there is more to life than just mechanical and soulless processes. Your mom is smarter than those retards, because she actually realizes that those core thoughts, emotions, and activities as a human have value.
Note: I'm not shitting on nerds in general or saying that people should be normalfags. That's not what this is about. The point is that those people were normalfags in disguise and just believed what their favorite philosophy Youtuber told them and never actually bothered to form their own opinions. I just want to make this abundandly clear before somebody gets the wrong idea. This is a Hikkaneet website after all.
