1. Memes

Memes are an ineffective way of communicating and make people retarded. Admittedly, I also enjoy some memes, but only the good ones :^) , and those are also excluded from my complaints.

People who have grown up with memes are mentally impaired in a multitude of ways:

  • For once, it's mostly "ironic shitposting", which essentially prevents any genuine expression of emotions and thoughts, effectively repelling and possibly bullying anyone who doesn't want to see everything as a joke, as elaborated on my text on irony, also on this site.
  • Memes work as a means of categorizing things and building identity. Everything has to be classified as either "soyjak vs chud", "virgin vs chad", "cringe vs based", and so on. Seeing issues only in those stupid dichotomies makes people retarded and starts to influence their thinking. They start making their identity about those dichotomies, doing what the chad does, and avoiding what the soyjak does, or whateverthefuck.
  • Memes are an very ineffective way of communication. A concept that could be conveyed in a singular succinct sentence has now a large image macro to say the same, but somehow in more retard-friendly. Everything has to be made for retards with no attention span and will to learn, easily digestible pieces in form of images instead of texts, where you would actually understand the concept. Memes give people the impression that they understand a concept, but they really don't, because memes dumbed it down for them. [1]
  • A lot of memes are not even funny, it's just that they are relatable and people are glad somebody encountered the same thought or experience as them. This ties back into it being a tool to build identity, mostly silly identities that make you seem like an idiot if you were ever to tell somebody about them in real life (Note: I hate the concept of identity in itself, so it's not necessarily about how silly those identities are rather than it being harmful to indulge in identities either way.)

1.1. 1. Other issues

  • So-called "Meme-culture" has been stale for a while now and it's not looking like we are going anywhere. Variations of Wojaks and Pepes will just proliferate as long as the Internet will exist, probably. This, however, is NOT a bug, but a feature: Wojaks and Pepes scratch exactly the itch of the people who enjoy the things above and will be further optimized and perfected until they are fully maximized in their potential to entertain people. It's a process of optimization, which is why other kind of memes don't get so popular, because they don't have the potential to be so optimized and perfected. People who complain about there being no OC and create their new nichanneru-style vip-quality retro-BBS don't get this.*Memes aren't a genuine expression of anything or supposed to be funny anymore, they are supposed to trigger the serotonin and dopamine receptors of redditors and 4chan users who seem to get entertained when they see a variation of something they like and are familar with already. It's a 100% mechanical process without any soul or thought in it, therefore also every attempt at OC inevitably will never proliferate as much as Wojaks and Pepes do. This mechanical process is there to keep people stimulated so they don't accidentally do something useful or, god forbid, have their own thoughts. Optimization hell.

1.2. 2. Notes

[1]: An example where I noticed this was those memes surrounding "Egosim" and Max Stirner. Those retards never read "The Ego and its own", but they think they understand the matter because they saw a meme about "spooks". The memes dumbed down the concepts in the books such that every retard can understand them and effectively removing all value from them.
