Wikipedia
Wikipedia calls itself an encyclopedia, but actually is something more akin to Reddit or Discord, in the sense that it is not made for the users, but for the moderators. The whole purpose of Wikipedia is to make power-tripping faggots feel like they have control over at least a little aspect of their life, which they achieve by just asserting control over people, who accidentally said something true. Most people don't understand to which extreme Wikipedia editors refuse to write the truth, even if they are very well aware that what they write is a lie. And they are defending this. While actual encyclopedias just assume the reader will research the topic if he is interested, Wikipedia tries to be trustworthy by virtue of having a million sources in each article. The collective mind of all Wikipedia editors, and admins, and moderators is so insecure about what they claim, rightfully so, like some kid who insists that his dad is a rocket engineer at NASA, and insists the more he gets called out on it. Wikipedia has the same mentality.
Supposedly Wikipedia is good, because it runs on free as in freedom software and has copyleft-ed articles, but there is no actual freedom gained from that. Would it make any difference if it ran on proprietary software, how would your freedom worsen in that regard? Same with the articles, who are a lot of times just under Fair Use, and not actually copyleft-ed. The practical freedom is almost zero, and no CC-BY-SA/GNU GPL licenses are going to change that. All the Wikipedia forks that exist have achieved nothing, since nobody has the resources to manage such a huge site on their own, as such there is no practical freedom gained from the copyleft licenses.
Another issue about Wikipedia, and a lot of people hate to hear this, is that the editors are mostly pseudonymous. Nobody is accountable for what he does on there, hiding behind a fake name, in order to prevent people from calling them out. You cannot tell whether a Wikipedia editor actually is knowledgable about what the writes about, because he hiding behind a pseudonym.
The donations are an obvious scam, and despite being an insane sum of money, barely get used to improve Wikipedia or whatever they claim.
Wikipedia suxxx and you should vandalize them. It's more fun than any other usage of the site, and if you feel like writing Wiki articles is fun, you should just make your own Wiki, where you cannot be censored or told what to do.
Tips And Tricks On Vandalizing Wikipedia
- change descriptions on media files to describe something else, but not too different, just enough to be wrong
- change dates with a little increment or descrement, again, just enough for it to be wrong
- Make explanations on complicated topics in such a way that any normal person would think the editor must have been completely up their own ass, using far too complicated language, and not actually being helpful, just looking like it was written to stroke the ego of the editor
- Remove information under the pretense that "It hasn't been researched enough" or is not true, even though it is obvious
- insert typos into difficult words under the pretense you fixed a typo
